A Collection Of Some Abraham Lincoln Posts

November 6, 2012 in Film, Politics | Permalink

I would have preferred Paul Thomas Anderson.

Steven Spielberg has made a movie about the life of President Abraham Lincoln. I personally think they should have waited until he was dead before making the movie. Oh, I’m not taking about Lincoln. I mean Spielberg.

Some Lincoln posts:

  • Lincoln actually watched John Wilkes Booth act on stage.
  • A laggard police officer could have prevented Lincoln’s assassination.
  • Lincoln became an ardent adopter of technology in 1862.
  • Lincoln’s widow, Mary Todd, was adjudged insane.
  • Houdini and Lincoln “reading together.”
  • What Election Day in NYC was like in 1860.
  • The Lincoln Money Shot Channel, via Conan O’Brien.
  • Lincoln received a gift of an elk-horn chair
  • Passages from Carl Sandburg’s bio of Lincoln’s early years.
  • Thaddeus Lowe was Lincoln’s chief Civil War aeronaut.
  • A look at the man who killed John Wilkes Booth.
  • The last living witness of the Lincoln Assassination speaks in 1956.
  • An attempt was made to rob Lincoln’s Illinois grave.
  • Sarah Vowell recalls how a Booth saved the life of a Lincoln.
